Mandriva Linux 2009开发计划时间表来了

根据Mandriva Linux公司的计划，Mandriva Linux 2009桌面操作系统将于今年的10月份发布。第一个alpha版本将于本月25日左右发布。包含在Mandriva Linux 2009中的主要更新有：

显著的缩短启动时间，自动一处orpaned包、自动集成包工具集和策略工具集

Mandriva Linux 2009还将计划对mandriva 窗口移植工具进行大规模的优化。

同时，Mandriva Linux 2009还将是唯一的将KDE4作为默认桌面环境的Linux桌面发行版，来自KDE项目组的好消息是，KDE4.1将于7月发布，不出以外的，该版本的KDE桌面环境也就包含在Mandriva Linux 2009中。

办公软件方面，OpenOffice 3.0也将计划在今年9月发布，所以Mandriva Linux 2009也将附带有最新的OpenOffice办公软件。

Mandriva Linux 2009, the next version of the popular desktop Linux operating system, will be released in October this year. The first alpha release is due in less than a week’s time on June 25. Some of the key issues targeted for the Mandriva Linux 2009 release include improved boot times, automatic removal of “orphaned” packages and the integration of PackageKit and PolicyKit.

Mandriva 2009 also plans to add significant improvements to the Mandriva Windows migration tool as well as better parental controls.

Mandriva will be one of the last significant Linux distributions to ship with KDE4 as the default desktop environment. The good news is that KDE 4.1 is expected out in July so will definitely be included in Mandriva 2009.

OpenOffice 3.0, which is expected to be released in September, is also planned for inclusion in Mandriva 2009.
